BARTOLOMEO
SCULPTOR w
ARCHITECT w
JEWELER
It was a natural
evolution from architect to artist for John Bartolomeo. His
life's work has always focused on creative design in some
form. A classically educated architect from the University of
Notre Dame, John founded his firm
in Chicago and designed countless structures including schools,
businesses and churches for more that forty years. Then, at
age sixty-five, when most men think of retiring, John decided to
forge a new path and follow his life's passion: creating
art.
Every piece of John's
artwork contains a portion of his soul. Every sensuous marble
sculpture, dynamic metal sculpture, and abstract painting
is a testament to his creative vision. He has a classical
understanding of the materials he uses. His smooth, minimalist
marble sculptures pay homage to the feminine form. His strong
steel and bronze pieces are dynamic and powerful, while his abstract
acrylic paintings radiate excitement and movement. He is a
multi-dimensional man with an intensity and verve for life that is
captivating, exhilarating and very infectious.
Now, at 85 years old, John is designing and creating one of a kind,
hand made jewelry.
